Sept. 25-26 - Home Grown Local Zone Art and Music Fest
Our annual event with celebrating local foods, drink, art and music! This year we are adding Back to Books Sale, to raise money for the market. Bring back reading!

Let's Get Back to Books!

With our busy lives and hectic schedules, we've turned to technology as our main source for information. From looking up recipes online to using T.V. and video games as our entertainment, books have taken a backseat in society.

The Five Points Community Farm Market would like to help you rekindle your love for reading, whether it's for information, education or for fun. We'll be having a book fair during our Home Grown Local Zone Festival on September 25 and 26 with a huge variety of books avail-able for purchase, from children's books to cooking and gardening to fiction, non-fiction and everything in between.

You can help!

Please donate used books to the Information Desk at the farm market between now and the book fair. Any contribution, whether it's one book or 20 books will be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your support, and we look forward to seeing you at the book fair!

Fresh This Week
Get Hooked on Seafood!
More tasty N.C. Shrimp, Eastern Shore Little Neck Clams, Hand picked Back fin Crab Meat and Tuna!

Look in the coolers!
Unlike many of your food markets with open face energy eating coolers, much of our produce is chillin' in the closed coolers because of the heat. We don't want you to miss a thing while shopping. So take a peek inside and you'll see fruits, greens, herbs and more!

Fresh This Week
This week look for: (*CSA)

* Butter beans ( Tip - consider freezing them for your Thanksgiving dinner!)
Green Beans
Ginger Gold Apples
* Tree ripened Peaches
* Yellow Corn
* Cabbage
  Cucumbers
 Collards
 Green Bell Peppers
Zucchini
* Raw Peanuts
Tomatoes

We've ordered lots of new Naked Juices in the refreshment cooler. Check them out!

Look for special bushel prices on produce. Take home and freeze some of the bounty of summer for soups and stews during the winter - same with the tomatoes. We're working on scheduling a couple more Canning Classes and Sq. Ft. Garden Classes so you can get your fall produce started.

Remember if you don't see what you are looking for, put in in the Request Book and we'll find it for you and call you when it's in!

Good Bye from the Nest

As summer winds down and school winds up the Barn Yard Gang will loose two of its great family members to school. Krisi and Megan are about to pack up and head back to the books and we would like to wish them all the best! Please stop in this weekend to say your good byes and let them cook you one last delicious dish!
